CHRIS NOT CROSS Smalling looks to be over fan attack as Man Utd stars arrive for training
Tebohroger|March. 12, 2019
CHRIS SMALLING will look to put the events of Sunday behind him as attention now turns to Manchester United's FA Cup clash with Wolves.
The defender, 29, was pictured arriving at training today alongside his team-mates on their way into Carrington.
Smalling was shoved by an Arsenal fan during the game at the Emirates and released a classy response on Twitter yesterday .
He said: "Commenting would only add to the attention he craved...
"Disappointed with yesterday’s result but we’ll learn from it. Looking ahead. Have a good start to the week everyone!"
After a late return to Manchester on Sunday night, the players were back in as they begin preparations for the quarter-final at Molineux.
United face another tricky away tie in the competition after dumping out Arsenal and Chelsea in their own backyards in the last two rounds but know victory means they are in the final four and will go to Wembley.
Interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hopeful he can welcome the likes of Jesse Lingard, Ander Herrera and Antonio Valencia for the game.
Despite being without nine first-team players through injury last week, Manchester United pulled off a stunning comeback to beat Paris Saint-Germain and progress in the Champions League.
But the injuries have also meant the likes of youngsters Tahith Chong and Mason Greenwood have earned valuable minutes.
Fred had a difficult afternoon on Sunday, hitting the post and giving away the Arsenal penalty on a rare start.
He will be desperate to be given another chance when United take on Nuno Espirito Santo's side, who scraped past Bristol City in the last round.
