I'm not plotting to kill Akufo-Addo - Mahama

Flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has denied claims by Rev. Owusu Bempah that he is plotting to assassinate President Akufo-Addo.
According to him, there is truth in the claim, while describing the controversial preacher as “a politically-tainted founder of a church.”
Rev. Owusu Bempah, who is the founder of Glorious Word Power Ministry International, claimed in an interview with Oman FM that Mahama was plotting evil against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
He alleged that the former president was scheming to eliminate Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
But a statement signed by Mahama’s spokesperson, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, denied the pastor’s allegations.
“In direct response to the said accusations, I am directed by Mr. Mahama to state that the claims of the said pastor are false. They remain imaginations of a warped mind and effusions of a politically-tainted founder of a church who would say and do anything to attract attention to himself,” the statement reads.

“As a known surrogate of the Akufo-Addo government, the said Owusu Bempah’s statements are clearly calculated to distract the attention of the suffering masses of Ghana from the mounting issues of bad governance, corruption, insecurity, hardship and dishonesty,” it added.
