- Zidane highly values Ramos and the Spaniard had threatened to leave the club after several altercations
- The Frenchman signed a three year deal with Los Blancos after the sacking of Santiago Solari
- Zidane resumed his first training session with the players ahead of their weekend's fixture against Celta Vigo
Zinedine Zidane made a crucial phone call to Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos after making a return to the Bernabeu to lead the dugout once again following his resignation ten months ago.
The 46-year-old was involved in his first training session since replacing sacked boss Santiago Solari at Los Blancos on a deal until 2022.
Zidane's top priority was to call Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos, who was reportedly threatening to leave the club should Jose Mourinho be brought back as manager.
The Spanish center-back also confirmed the rumours that he was involved in a training ground row with Marcelo
Ramos had however hinted he had patch things up with President Florentino Perez after falling out with the Madrid chief as well.
According to Sun (UK), Zidane spoke to the captain over the phone to discuss details of his return and insisted he valued Ramos' opinion.
Marca also claim the Frenchman urged the experienced captain to leave the final say on club matters up to his coaching staff.
Before the official unveiling of Zidane, Ramos was told by Perez that the Frenchman will be making a sensational return back to the club.
It is understood Mourinho was planning to boot Ramos if he returned to Madrid, with the two never having really resolved their feud before the Portuguese manager left for Chelsea in 2013.
Zidane will be looking to begin on a winning start when his side face Celta Vigo at the weekend.
