VIDEO: DP Ruto Cautions MPs On God's Forthcoming Punishment
Jun. 10, 2019
Deputy President William Ruto, on Sunday, warned Members of Parliament (MPs) against passing laws that will derail church fundraisers.
While speaking during a church service at Presbyterian Church of East Africa Kasuku Parish in Ol-Joroorok Constituency, Ruto stated that God would punish the legislators if they proceeded with their plans.
He explained that God had done so much for our country that it would be wrong for anyone to try and stand in the way of his work.
"The preacher has told us not to forget how far God has brought us. There was a time when we were divided but today we are united. It's all because of God.
"A bill has been tabled in Parliament to oppose fundraisers and donations in church. They want to stop God's word. You will face God's wrath and you will suffer in this world," Ruto stated.
He told the people who are behind those plans to take care and focus on passing more important bills.
"You are going to legislate on how to sabotage the word of God and the spread of the good news of Jesus Christ?
"Don't say I didn't warn you. I have given you the news early. Take care! There are many bills that we want you to pass in Parliament instead of derailing God's word," he added.
National Assembly Majority Leader John Mbadi tabled a bill to amend the Public Officer Ethics Act.
If passed, the bill will cap contributions to Ksh100,000. Mbadi, however, insisted that the bill was not targeting anyone.
