Chelsea And Real Madrid Reach Agreement Over Permanent Move For Kovacic
Jun. 27, 2019
Despite the looming transfer ban on Chelsea, the Blues have reached an agreement with Real Madrid to sign on-loan midfielder, Mateo Kovacic.
Per the agreement, Chelsea will pay a reported €50 million (£45 million) to acquire the services of the Croatian.
Even though Chelsea face a two-window transfer ban, they're able to sign Kovacic permanently as he's currently registered with the club until his loan officially expires.
Chelsea snapping up Kovacic on a permanent deal is a no-brainer. Of course, the club could be slapped with a transfer ban and they're also without Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who suffered a ruptured Achilles during a friendly against New England Revolution days before the Europa League final.
Kovacic was drafted in by then-manager Maurizio Sarri and he played 51 games in all competitions last seasons, including 32 appearances in the Premier League.
