Although the lawmaker representing Adamawa North senatorial district has reacted to the viral video and claims it is not entirely true
Many Nigerians have called that he should be investigated and jailed.
Speaking on the viral report, Festus Keyamo, SAN, the Director of Strategic Communication of the Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organization in the last election has called for the arrest and arraignment of Senator Elisha Abbo.
On his Twitter page, he urged the Nigeria police to swing into action and arrest Senator Abbo.
“The case of Senator Elisha Abbo is very straightforward: the Police MUST IMMEDIATELY take three steps
“1. Arrest him (no formal complaint is needed with the evidence on tape) 2. Obtain his statement (if he’s willing to make one) and that of the victim 3. Arraign him in court.”
Social Commentator and Lawyer says, "This is the sort of fight all women should stand up and fight tomorrow. Their men, brothers, husbands, uncles, and boyfriends should march with them.
"Senator Elisha should be in jail. The policeman who watched him assault a woman and went ahead to arrest the victim must be dismissed and prosecuted.
This is an opportunity to set standards.
He went to buy sex toys with 3 girls and ended up punching and slapping a defenseless lady in the face multiple times.
The youngest senator. He is 41. He is a young savage.
The CCTV clip is gut-wrenching.
It had everything. Violence against a woman. Abuse of police powers. Obstruction of justice. Official corruption.
This opportunity must be maximized"
