Marcus Rashford has accepted the controversial video posted by his Manchester United team-mate Jesse Lingard during their holiday together was a ‘mistake’.
In the clip, from a post-season break in Miami, Lingard is heard swearing and boasting about his apartment’s views, while one of his friends is seen simulating a sex act in bed.
While some came to Lingard’s defence – including Gary Neville and talkSPORT’s Adrian Durham – many found the video arrogant and distasteful.
Both Rashford and Lingard are on United’s pre-season tour in Australia, with the former playing down the incident when speaking to the press on Wednesday.
“From what I saw of it, people have to understand, he was enjoying his holiday,” he said.
“It was a mistake but there is not much more I can say about that.”
In the video, Lingard gave viewers a tour of his plush suite, while mentioning he’d ‘seen a lot of s*** in this room, a lot of f***ing s***’.

Rashford later appears in the clip, before eventually getting to the the room of friend Jamal Branker, who was pretending to have sex on his bed.
He said: “Look at the f***ing views, look at the f***ing views, man! F*** off!
“Right, Rash, I give this and my room a four out of five.
“Now on to Jamal. Shagging there as per! Probably shagging his own hand under that bed. Shagging pillows.”
It was later claimed Lingard, 26, had not intended to publish the video on his Snapchat story.
