William Ruto has always voted for dynasties, how is he a hustler? - Kisumu resident
Masolo Mabonga|Aug. 13, 2019
A Kisumu resident has accused Deputy President William Ruto of hoodwinking Kenyans into believing he represents the interest hustlers yet he has been supporting dynasties throughout his political career.
The middle-aged man who demonstrated a good understanding of Ruto's political journey asked the DP to desist from going round the country telling Kenyans not to vote for dynasties since he has been their champion.
In an interview with NTV, the Kisumu-based electorate said he will defy Ruto's call and vote for dynasties because he was taught by the DP to trust such leaders with his vote.
"He has presented himself as a hustler presidential candidate and branded others like Uhuru, Raila and Gideon Moi as dynasties. But he has gotten it wrong because he has never voted outside dynasties since 1992," he said
He revisited the DP's political alignments since his youthful days in politics to justify his argument.
" He voted for Moi in 1992 and 1997 who is a dynasty, in 2002 when the whole country knew Kibaki was going to win, he voted for Uhuru a dynasty. In 2007 there were hustlers he voted for Raila another dynasty.
"In 2013 Ruto voted for Uhuru a dynasty, in 2017 he voted Uhuru again yet we had so many hustlers like Ekuru Aukot, Mwalimu Dida and others. So he cannot come out all of certain and tell us not to vote dynasties, we shall vote for them because that is the partner he has taught us," he added
The voter who did not mention his name in a brief interview, went ahead to bash Ruto for planning ahead of time and failing to respect the president.
Ruto has positioned himself as the front runner in the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He has been crisscrossing different parts of the country to solidify his political base ahead of 2022 succession contest.
His bid is, however, facing resistance from a section political heavyweights who are allegedly planning to form an alliance that will scuttle Ruto's ambitions.
It is believed Uhuru and Opposition leader Raila Odinga and secretly hatching a plot to lock the DP out of power in the next General Election.
The new lineup to be unleashed comprises of other big names in the political arena like Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi, Senator Gideon Moi, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Ford Kenya's Moses Wetangu'la.
This is a group the DP has been associating with dynasties and has severally persuaded Kenyans to vote them out.
