- Wolves vs Man United Premier League clash finished 1-1
- Martial scored United's opener before Neves equalising for the hosts
- The Red Devils will face Crystal Palace in their next fixture
Man United's hopes of building on their win over Chelsea in their season opener were on Monday evening, August 19, dented after Wolves forcing them to a frustrating 1-1 draw at Molineux Stadium.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made just one change to the side that defeated Chelsea at Old Trafford, with the Norwegian introducing Daniel James in Andreas Pereira's place.
United were out to get the perfect revenge on Wolves who beat them twice in a space of three weeks last season.
But the mission was aborted, with the home side's incisive midfield and clinical defence keeping United at bay.
The first half of the match however saw the Red Devils take charge of proceedings, with Wolves failing to record a single shot on target.
United's dominance saw them open the scoring through Anthony Martial after a brilliant build-up involving Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford.
With the hosts struggling, it was the introduction of Adama Traore at the interval that saw them settle in, as Raul Jimenez hit the post for the hosts before Ruben Neves scoring a wonderful goal from 22 yards out to equalise.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's charges had a glorious chance to win it after Paul Pogba was fouled by Conor Coady in the dangerous area, but the Frenchman had his spot-kick excellently saved by Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio.
Luke Shaw nearly won it for United at stoppage time after being set up by Pogba, but the England defender fluffed the chance, shooting low and hard but straight at the goalkeeper.
