Nigeria U23 national team suffered a 1-0 defeat to Sudan in the first leg of their third round clash of the 2020 Olympics qualifiers at the Al-Merrikh Stadium.
Walaa El Din scored the only goal that gave the home team the victory after benefiting from a defensive error in the 45th minute.
The Sudanese team however take a one goal advantage to the second leg billed for Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba next week.

Former MFM FC striker Stephen Odey, Blessing Muyiwa and Taiwo Awoniyi all had chances to put Nigeria ahead earlier in the game but they all faltered in front of goal.
The Genk forward wasted two clear cut chances in the 17th and 48th minutes, as their chances to qualify for the U23 Africa Cup of Nations championship are still very bright.
It would be recalled that they thrashed Libya 4-0 at the same venue having lost the reverse fixture 2-0 in the first leg in Tunisia.
