Jamie Carragher thinks he and Gary Neville forgot about West Ham in top seven race

West Ham United drew 0-0 at Aston Villa on Monday night.
Pundit Jamie Carragher has told Sky Sports (16/09, 19:04) that he thinks West Ham United were overlooked in the conversation for top seven contention.
The Hammers were in action on Monday night, travelling to Aston Villa in search of a third straight victory after wins over Watford and Norwich City.
Sadly for Manuel Pellegrini, his side couldn't unlock the Villa defence, and had to hang on for a point in the end after Arthur Masuaku's red card.
Still, it's eight points from the first five games and just the one defeat in that run, which came against Premier League champions Manchester City, so no shame there.
West Ham certainly look a dangerous proposition with club-record signing Sebastien Haller up front, and Carragher has given his view on the club.
Carragher has suggested that he and Gary Neville were both wrong to overlook West Ham in the battle for a top seven finish, as they focused on Wolves, Everton and Leicester City instead.
Carragher claims he almost forgot about the talent West Ham actually have, pointing out that Haller, Andriy Yarmolenko, Manuel Lanzini and Lukasz Fabianski are all 'real quality players'.
He reserved special praise for playmaker Felipe Anderson, a summer target for Carragher's former club Liverpool according to the Daily Mail , believing he is good enough for a top four club in the Champions League, adding that he has been impressed with West Ham and they deserve to be in the top seven conversation.
“We should be, because we talk about three teams breaking into the top six a lot; it's Wolves, Everton and Leicester, we never really mention West Ham too much, both of us before the the season never mentioned them,” said Carragher. “When you actually see the names, you sort of forget...you look at signings, you think of Haller. £45million on a striker, big money, he's had a great start.”
“You look at someone like Felipe Anderson – I think he can play for one of the top four teams in the Champions League, he's a really good player. Yarmolenko, didn't play much last year, Lanzini, these are real quality players. They've got a really good goalkeeper in Fabianski, and there's no doubt, I think they will have the ambitions within the club. I have been impressed with them,” he added.
