ARSENAL fans have been quick to point out that Marcus Rashford has a worse goal record than flop striker Nicklas Bendtner.
The maverick Dane currently plies his trade at Copenhagen after leaving North London in 2014, where he was employed for nine years as a pro.
And Rashford's goalscoring woes have been put into sharp focus this season, as Manchester United have struggled to find the back of the net.
Their 1-0 defeat at Newcastle on Sunday evening was a new low point for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer , who has a 21.7 per cent win ratio since United's shock victory over Paris Saint-Germain in March.
And now it has been revealed that Rashford's goal record is one every 3.75 games.
Whereas Bendtner managed to find the net once every 3.64 matches.
It is a damning statistic that shows how the England forward is not playing like an outright No9 — and he has also scored three penalties for United.
Bendtner actually had his most prolific spell of his career at Rosenborg, before moving to the Danish capital over the summer.
But that does not spare Bendtner being described by fans as a "walking meme."
Gunners legend Martin Keown said on Match of the Day: "They start playing balls long into Rashford. I feel sorry for him, he’s surviving on scraps.
"I think he’s starting to despair in what’s around him. He’s [Rashford] not moving.
"I don’t want to have a go at him because I think he’s a magnificent player but I don’t know what he’s waiting for there.
"He’s not getting the service. It’s the combination of the two. It’s very predictable and all too slow."
Alan Shearer also agreed, and did not hold back over the quality of this United team.
The Newcastle and England legend said: "This is the worst Man United team I’ve seen for a number of years.
Bendtner, Soldado, Chamakh, Ballotelli were walking memes but Rashford gets to walk free — David ⚡ (@__duutd_) October 6, 2019
Remembee Bendtner? The bloke who was a walking meme? Constantly laughed at by the world of football?? he had 45 goals in 171 Arsenal games. Rashford has 48 in 179 United games.. — Najaat✨ (@_najaat_) October 5, 2019
Bendtner was a walking meme because despite his goalscoring record, he used to think he was the best. Never seen rashford act or talk like that — D (@djay009) October 5, 2019

"I wonder whether anything is actually saying anything to him [Rashford]. [He's] not moving in the box. He’s making it far too easy for defenders.
"It has to be a very frustrating time for him because that team is awful."
Fans are claiming the 6ft 4in forward scored 45 goals for Arsenal, but SunSport has counted 47.
