Liverpool news: Harvey Elliott banned after mocking Tottenham’s Harry Kane in derogatory video

Oct. 11, 2019

Liverpool winger Harvey Elliott has been banned for 14 days by the Football Association for an offensive video in which he mocked Tottenham player Harry Kane .
Earlier this season a video surfaced in which Elliott, 16, mocked Kane by impersonating the England captain and using derogatory language.
The footage showed Elliott watching the Champions League final between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur . Kane is pictured along with the caption: ‘F****** m***’.
The teenager admitted a breach of FA Rule E3 in relation to a video posted on social media and providing a public apology.
“Language and/or behaviour in the video breached FA Rule E3(1), as it was abusive and/or insulting, and constituted an ‘Aggravated Breach’, which is defined in FA Rule E3(2), as it included reference to a disability,” an FA statement said.
Elliott has also been fined £350 and instructed to complete a face-to-face education course.
The teenager had previously apologised for recording the video.
“I would just like to wholeheartedly apologise for any offence caused on the back of a video of me currently circulating on the internet,” said Elliott in a message posted on Instagram.
“The video was taken whilst messing around with friends in a private environment and was not directed at any individual but I realise that my actions were both immature and senseless.
“I would like to stress that the contents of the video do not represent who I am as a person or how I’ve been brought up, and I am truly sorry.”
