Sanwo-Olu's Wife Tasks Lagosians On Cleanliness

Lagos – Wife of the state Governor, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, has called on the citizens to ensure that they keep their environments clean always. The governor’s wife,while participating in clean up activities in Ikeja after a press briefing by Committee of Wives of Lagos Officials (COWLSO), on the forthcoming 19th National Women’s Conference in Lagos on Friday, Sanwo-Olu’s wife said the confab is to strategically empower women to contribute positively to the development of the state and nation at large. On the confab theme: “Unlearn, Learn and Relearn: 21st Century Women’s T.H.E.M.E.S Perspective/Approach,” the governor’s wife said it was apt, as it would afford COWLSO members opportunity to speak with the citizens on doing things right. She said that “There is the need to unlearn what we knew before and learn the right things”. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu said that this year’s women’s confab will hold from Tuesday, October 22 to Thursday, October 24 at The Convention Center, Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. On the clean up exercise, she noted that “COWSLO women defieidthe rIa.ns to ensure a state where dirt and disease is reduced. ” Come rain, come shine, COWSLO women are ready to support their husbands to ensure that ideals of Lagos State government are delivered. ” Noting that the environmental situation of the country is paramount to Lagos, she admonished all and sundry to educate the populace on environmental cleanliness. “We should start from homes, the schools to ensure clean environment,” she added. She noted that the confab, which has Aisha Buhari, wife of the president, as mother of the day, will be declared open by Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. Noting that the environmental situation of the country is paramount to Lagos, she admonished all and sundry to educate the populace on environmental cleanliness. “We should start from homes, the schools to ensure clean environment,” she added.
