Ryan Giggs describes Tottenham Hotspur player as a 'coach's dream'

Oct. 13, 2019

Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies will be hoping to earn his 50th Welsh cap when Wales take on Croatia in a crucial Euro 2020 qualifier tonight.
Ryan Giggs has described Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies as a 'coach's dream' ahead of Wales' crucial Euro 2020 qualifier against Croatia on Sunday evening.
Left-back Davies, who has found regular game time hard to come by at Spurs this season, could earn his 50th cap for his country if he is picked by his manager.
On Thursday, Wales recorded a 1-1 draw away at Slovakia, with Davies playing the entire match and he will be hoping to keep his name in the starting XI.
As posted on the Last Word On Spurs official Twitter account , Giggs stated that Davies is consistently an 8/10 player, as he could earn his 50th cap for his country tonight.
"Ben loves playing for his country," said Giggs. "He's a consistent performer and he's a delight to work with. A great professional, good character and he's a coach's dream.
"He's always available and he's one of those players that consistently gives you 8/10. It'll be a great honour for Ben, his family travel everywhere watching the team as well. It's a great occasion for him and his family, if I pick him."
Davies is earning some much-needed game time on international duty and he will be hoping that continues when he returns to club duty next week.
Danny Rose has started ahead of the Welshman this season, but with Spurs' performances and results taking a turn for the worst in recent weeks, Davies did start the defeat against Brighton last time out.
After the international break is over, Mauricio Pochettino's side will take on Watford in the Premier League, and then Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League, as they need some much-needed three points from both competitions.
