'SNL': David Harbour Spoofs 'Joker' in Oscar the Grouch Origin Story

Oct. 13, 2019

During his hosting stint on 'Saturday Night Life', the 'Hellboy' actor gives Oscar the Grouch from 'Sesame Street' an origin story in a Gotham-inspired sketch.
AceShowbiz - David Harbour poked fun at the newest comic book blockbuster " Joker " during the October 12 episode of " Saturday Night Live ". The host played Oscar the Grouch, the green Muppet that loves to live in a trash can in " Sesame Street ", in a "Joker"-esque sketch.
Instead of having a happy bright setting usually seen in the children series, the Gotham-inspired skit had dark gritty vibes as it told the story of the puppet long before he turned green and chose to hide in a trash can.
Just like Joaquin Phoenix 's DC mental clown in the Todd Phillips-directed film, Harbour's Oscar also went to therapy. "Is it me, or are things getting worse out there? Hookers and pimps on every corner," he grumbled.
When he was asked how it made him feel, he deadpanned, "Grouchy. If everyone calls you trash and everyone treats you like trash, why don't you just become trash?"
Earlier on the show, David Harbour gave a nod to his Netflix show " Stranger Things " as he traveled into the "Upside Down" and met "SNL" crew like Kate McKinnon , Aidy Bryant , Pete Davidson , Kenan Thompson , and Lorne Michaels .
The show featured Camila Cabello singing her two singles "Cry for Me" and "Easy". It marked her debut performance on the NBC sketch show.
