A fire caused by improperly discarded ashes damaged a garage and two vehicles in the driveway at a home in Brentwood early Thursday morning, according to the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District.
The fire was reported at about 2:55 a.m. at a home in the 1200 block of Woodside Drive. Firefighters arrived and saw the two vehicles on fire with flames impinging on the garage, fire officials said.
