Why Do Women Enjoy Going For Holidays Alone?
Jan. 18, 2020
Over two thirds of people who will go on a singles holidays today are women. "More women are living alone and choosing to travel alone, even when they are in committed relationships. These women have the spending power and feel empowered to travel by themselves," said Cathy Winston, the lead author on a singles' holiday survey that was conducted in UK's singles holiday platform, 101 Singles Holiday.
The types of holiday trips that single women are booking include spa and wellness retreats, beach holidays, group adventures, active holidays, escorted tours, and cruises. Of these women, the majority are single, divorced or widowed. This survey found out that women will save up to sh.150,000 for these trips which will mostly be taken during calendar holidays.
"The modern woman no longer needs a partner to accompany her on a scuba dicving holiday in Thailand. As a result, today's singles holidays are not for lonely hearts seeking for love and hook-ups. They are tailor made and targeted at solo women travelers looking for the thrill of discovery and adventure," said Ms. Winston.
