A pedestrian was struck and killed in the Sherman Heights neighborhood early Sunday morning, by a driver who fled the scene of the accident, San Diego Police said Sunday.
The collision took place at 1:55 a.m. Sunday, on Market Street between 17th Street and Interstate-5, police said. A vehicle was driving eastbound in the number one lane of Market street when it struck a pedestrian who was crossing or standing in the street.
The vehicle dragged the victim for about 100 feet, police said, and then fled eastbound on Market. Police are looking for witnesses who saw the collision, and said they are looking for a possible silver GMC Envoy or a similar vehicle with front end damage.
