Liverpool appear to troll Tottenham and Jose Mourinho in matchday programme for Manchester United game

Liverpool appeared to mock Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham tactics in their matchday programme for Sunday’s Premier League clash vs Manchester United.
The Reds secured a 2-0 win over their north west rivals thanks to goals from Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah.
It was Liverpool’s 21st league victory of the season, with their 20th coming last weekend as Jurgen Klopp’s side won 1-0 at Tottenham .
Spurs boss Mourinho lined up with five defenders as his side had just 33 per cent possession, clearly hoping to beat the Reds on the counter.
Despite conceding the majority of the ball to Liverpool, Spurs actually recorded more shots than Klopp’s side, and the absence of Harry Kane – sidelined through injury – is clearly hurting the north Londoners.
Mourinho opted to select Lucas Moura as his centre-forward against Liverpool, with Heung-min Son and Dele Alli playing just off him.
But Liverpool decided to troll Mourinho over his tactics in their most recent matchday programme, saying Spurs played a strikerless 4-6-0 formation when the two sides met last weekend.
Given the Portuguese is known for his love of ‘parking the bus’, it seems quite a cheap shot from Liverpool considering Tottenham did actually line up with a striker against the Reds.
Mourinho defended his tactics in the defeat to Liverpool, insisting he had to be ‘pragmatic’ with injuries to key players such as Kane and midfielder Moussa Sissoko.

He said: “You go for every game and you try, even if you have to be more strategic than philosophical.
“Philosophical is when you follow a certain philosophy and everything is in place to follow it.
“But another thing is when you’re in trouble and you have to be pragmatic, creative and try to build something. That’s what we did against Liverpool.”
