Red Bull Leipzig have hilariously trolled a Chelsea fan who claimed star striker Timo Werner wanted to come to Stamford Bridge.
The Germany international has scored 20 goals from 18 Bundesliga matches thus far this season and is attracting the attention of a number of Premier League clubs.
However, it seems as though Leipzig doubt the 23-year-old will be making the move to west London anytime soon after they put a Blues fan firmly in his place online.
The German wrote on his own Twitter feed ‘Haben dich vermisst, Bundesliga ’, which roughly translates to ‘Missed you, Bundesliga’ as he returned to goalscoring form in the 3-1 win over Union Berlin.
A Chelsea fan then cheekily translated the Tweet for himself to ‘I’m joining Chelsea, what’s the Bundesliga?’ only to be brutally shut down.
Leipzig’s official Twitter account got involved and wrote: “Nice try, not gonna [sic] lie. We fixed this for you though.”
Defeat for the Blues at St James’ Park highlighted the need for reinforcements this window, with Edinson Cavani also linked after he handed in a transfer request at PSG.
But the chances of signing Werner appear to be growing slimmer, with reports Liverpool want to make a £60million move in the summer.
According to Bild , the former Stuttgart striker wants to link up with compatriot Jurgen Klopp at Anfield if he is to move.
