Arsenal ‘have not got much chance of signing’ Tottenham target Dayot Upamecano, with Bayern Munich and Barcelona more likely destinations

Arsenal’s hopes of signing Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig this summer have been quashed by a European football expert.
Kevin Hatchard told talkSPORT it was far more likely the 21-year-old would go to either Bayern Munich or Barcelona as he seeks new opportunities.
The centre-back has gained the attention of scouts across the continent with his dominant and aggressive displays in the Bundesliga, with Jose Mourinho watching the defender keep a clean sheet against Bayern.
Upamecano will be available for £50million this summer when he will have just one year left on his deal, with Arsenal themselves reportedly getting priced out of a January move.
However, it appears though there is more to the story than that.
Hatchard told Hawksbee and Jacobs on Wednesday the youngster remains unconvinced by the long-term project at the Emirates and it is more likely he will shun Premier League interest in the summer.
He said: “The situation that Leipzig have with him is that his contract expires at the end of next season so they would like him to sign a new deal.

“They say that’s not out of the question, realistically he is going to move at the end of the season.
“Bayern are very much interested, would love to sign him, Barcelona have been very strongly linked with him as well so it is going to be a proper scrap I think in the summer for his signature.
“I’m not sure of the Arsenal link, unless they can convince him there is a long-term project there, I’m not sure Arsenal have got much chance of signing him.”
