Fire breaks out between two car yards in Grey Lynn

Feb. 12, 2020

A fire has broken out between two car yards in Grey Lynn, central Auckland.
The smoke could be seen from across Auckland.
A spokesman for Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) confirmed firefighters were at the scene.
A Stuff reporter at the scene said four fire trucks were present as well as an aerial appliance.
About half a dozen firefighters were milling around on the footpath.
The fire appeared to be smouldering and only smoke could be seen.
FENZ assistant area commander, Roger Callister said the fire involved trees and tyres between the two places.
"It's extended into one building – we're getting to work with hoses on the area but I don't think we'll be here much longer."
