Liverpool have become the latest elite European club to register their interest in Jadon Sancho ahead of the summer transfer window.
Sancho, the England forward, has been one of the best players on the continent this season, scoring 15 goals and creating a further 17 for Borussia Dortmund.
His performances mean the 19-year-old is recording statistics on par with Lionel Messi this season, and, naturally, there is a lot of interest in Sancho heading towards the end of the campaign.
The teenager is a boyhood Chelsea fan and they are known to be admirers, though reports on Wednesday claimed the Blues have wrapped up a deal for Ajax winger Hakim Ziyech which suggests their interest in Sancho will not develop into a formal move.
Manchester City are expected to bid for him as they attempt to bring Sancho back to the Etihad three years after he departed for Germany, while Man United have also held a long-standing interest in the 11-capped England international.
And now, according to the Daily Mail , Liverpool have registered their admiration of Sancho with Dortmund in the build up to the transfer window reopening this summer.
He is expected to leave BVB at the end of the season amid all the interest, though his lengthy contract which runs until 2022 means the Bundesliga side hold all the cards and are set to demand upwards of £100million for their most prized asset.

Liverpool hope Jurgen Klopp’s relationship with Dortmund – he managed them for seven successful years – will give them an advantage in the transfer race – especially as Sancho ‘is the level of signing the Reds need to be making’.
This is according to former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy, who told talkSPORT that bringing Sancho to Anfield would ensure Liverpool remain at the pinnacle of the world game for the next DECADE.
“If you were in charge of Liverpool you would say, ‘we are on top of that tree now, let’s go and get the very best’,” said Cundy on The Sports Bar .
“This kid is going to be up there for the next decade, that’s the sort of signing that keeps Liverpool right where they are.
“There’s talk that Chelsea are in for him, but right now if there’s one position that Chelsea are really strong in, it’s the wide areas.
Jadon Sancho is on the move… but which club fits him best?
“Willian’s contract is coming to an end and that doesn’t look like it’s going to be resolved, so it looks like he’s going to be allowed to leave.
“Pedro is another one who probably won’t be there next season, which also opens up a space, so I certainly understand why Chelsea would be interested in Sancho.
“But if you want to really put a marker down and say, ‘we’re here for the next five or six years’, that’s the sort of signing Liverpool need to be looking at.”
