Grosseto, February 14, 2020 – The investigation into the group of children, at the time minors, who would have entered the electronic register of a class to alter it and remove absences. A story involving ten students. The investigation is by the postal police and is coordinated by the prosecutor’s office at the Juvenile Court of Florence, Filippo Focardi. Abusive access to computer systems, material falsehood in public documents, damage to state databases: these are the crimes of which children are accused.
According to what was reconstructed by the postal police, two of the suspects, very skilled in computer science, had crept into the school’s computers a ‘trojan’ – device also used for eavesdropping – thus managing to view the teachers’ passwords to access the electronic register.
The other friends, among the suspects, asked to cancel the unjustified absences before the report to the parents started. Some of them seem to have been at risk of failure . It was the principal who noticed the intrusion at the end of March 2019 and therefore started the investigation. The postal police interrogated them all and distinguished them who hacked the school computer and who has benefited from illegal access to the register of teachers.
