Bernardo Silva Slams City's Poor Performance After United Loss
March. 09, 2020
Bernado Silva has branded Manchester City's performance as "unacceptable" after they were beaten 2-0 by rivals Manchester United on Sunday.
City needed to win this match at least to delay Liverpool's inevitable league win but an early error by Ederson gifted Anthony Martial the opener. Another late error from the keeper saw Scott McTominay wrap up the three points with a 35-yard volley into the empty net.
The defending champions saw their star striker Sergio Aguero taken off after suffering a thigh injury.
Silva after the game acknowledged the mistakes were unforgivable and say they need to improve drastically.
"It was a bad game for us. Not acceptable. We didn’t start badly and were playing quite well until we conceded.
"We know how good the Manchester United players are on the counter-attack, very aggressive. So our performance was not acceptable.
"We will have to watch the game back and listen to what Pep has to say. But a team like ours cannot lose this many games. We need to check what’s not going right and try not to make so many mistakes."
