Facebook Invites Community Leaders in Kenya to Apply For Accelerator Programme

Facebook has announced the launch of the Community Accelerator programme which will be available in three countries in sub Saharan Africa: Kenya, South Africa and Nigeria.
This is an evolution of the Facebook Community Leadership Programme where from a pool of 6,000 applicants, 115 people were selected. Among the people selected included 6 Kenyans.
According to Facebook, the Accelerator will be a six-month programme that will provide training, mentorship and funding to help community leaders grow their communities.
The selected leaders will spend 3 months learning from experts, coaches and a customized curriculum to grow their communities.
The following 3 months will be spent iterating and executing their plans. They will award up to $3 million to 80 participants worldwide.
