March. 12, 2020
Paris Saint-Germain coach Thomas Tuchel hailed the team's collective performance in their 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund in a ChampionsLeague last-16 tie played at Parc-des-Princes in Paris.
Tuchel revealed that the team was in high spirits from the start and created a very good atmosphere leading to the decisive tie.
"It was really extraordinary. On the bus, it was strong, it really motivated us, it gave us confidence. The team began to sing together, it was good and exactly the type of atmosphere we needed before a big match with lots of pressure on us. I really hoped that we were going to be able to take this atmosphere, and this spirit onto the pitch and the team did it," he told the club's official website.
Commenting on the match, the German tactician said that the team played a collective game and won it as a unit.
"The match? There were periods where we suffered together, including Sarabia, Cavani, Mbappé and Neymar! I felt that we were always in it together and that we were also able to be dangerous. We are very happy."
Neymar and Julian Bernat scored in the first half as PSG overturned a 2-1 loss in Dortmund to progress into Champions League last eight for the first time in four years.
