- Odion Ighalo scored fifth Man United goal in their FA Cup triumph over Norwich City
- The Nigerian star found the back of the net in the 51st minute
- Solskjaer is excited to have him saying the forward is a proven goals scorer
Nigerian forward Odion Ighalo continued his goals scoring form for Manchester United in their FA Cup victory over fellow Premier League outfit Norwich City earlier this weekend.
The 31-year-old attacker opened scoring for the Red Devils in the 51st minute of their encounter from close range.
His strike took his goal tally to five after 11 matches since he moved to Old Trafford during the winter transfer window from Shanghai Shenhua.
Although his goal was canceled out by Todd Cantwell's 75th-minute equaliser and an extra minute from the most expensive defender in the world Harry Maguire propelled the visitors to the last four stage.
" It is great to have the option to rotate ,” Solskjaer told BBC Sport. “ Anthony Martial came on and did brilliant, but Odion gives me a chance to rotate .
" He's a proven goalscorer and played his part in both goals," he continued . "He is a great person to have around the dressing room too .
“ Odion knows how much we value him in and around the dressing room; he’s a goalscorer, a poacher, he’s strong, we can play the ball into him, he showed for the second and Paul [Pogba] found him .”
Ighalo has scored in every other tourney he has featured for United except in the Premier League after six appearances.
He bagged a brace against Derby County in their FA Cup, while his remaining three goals were recorded against Club Brugge and LASK before football activities came to a sudden halt across the globe
Solskjaer added: “ It was very important (to keep him at the club), that was important for me and we worked hard to do it .”

Ighalo has also been impressive for his Premier League club after 14 games unbeaten in all competitions as they travel to the AMEX Stadium for their 32nd EPL game of the season.
They currently sit sixth on the table with 49 points - five away shy of fourth-place team Chelsea as the season begins to wind down.
Odion Ighalo had put United ahead in the 51st minute before tod Cantwell drew the home side level in the 70th minute to send the match into extra time.
Todd Cantwell restored the hosts' dignity in the 75th minute but Harry Maguire's extra minute goal ensured Solskjaer's men seal their victory at the end of the meeting.
