Former Black Stars player, Nii Odartey Lamptey, has expressed his joy over the Court of Appeal’s ruling on the case between him and his ex-wife, Gloria Appiah.
The dissatisfied ex-wife appealed against a ruling by the Accra High Court in June 2017, presided over by Justice Cecilia Don-Chebe Agbevey, that ordered her to vacate Lamptey’s mansion at East Legon. The court, however, granted her an amount GHC200,000, a car, and a four-bedroom house located in Dome as alimony for their divorce.
Ms. Appiah’s quest for a review of the verdict and award her with the ex-husband’s seven-bedroom house at East Legon as part of her entitlements failed as the Court of Appeal upheld the High Court’s earlier decision.
Odartey Lamptey, in an interview with Accra based Kasapa FM ,sounded relieved that the legal battle was over and he can now focus on his life.
He recalled the difficulty going through this legal battle for the past seven years and wished no man goes through the same because it can be life-threatening.
“It has not been an easy journey in the last seven years. I’m really happy that it’s over. God has been with me throughout this battle and I’m grateful. It is my prayer that no man goes through this experience. It’s not a good experience at all but I thank God for the strength. I’m really happy”, he said.
