A protest against police officers carrying around Point Of Sale (POS) machines to extort students got bloody really quickly.
The student community of the Delta State Polytechnic Ozoro were protesting against extortion by the police officers when a young man was shot dead.
The unfortunate incident occurred on Monday morning when youths carrying placards and chanting “SOS go dey carry POS waka” stormed the streets of Ozoro to protest undue extortion by POS carrying police officers when the young man was gunned down to the chagrin of fellow protesters.
As at the time of filing this report, the corpse has not been evacuated and peace is yet to be returned to the protesting community.

In other reports, Nigerians have raised alarm after a Twitter user shared a photo of a pack of Hydroxychloroquine sulfate and claimed it was sold for ₦50,000 at a Port Harcourt Pharmacy.
The hike it is believed comes after a Nigerian-trained US-based medical doctor said she has used a combination of hydroxychloroquine, zinc, and Zithromax to treat over 350 Covid-19 patients and none died.
The doctor’s claim has been highly disputed but the demand for the drug has skyrocketed and this has made it expensive.
The claim that a pharmacy in Port Harcourt is selling a packet of Hydroxychloroquine sulfate, containing 60 tablets, for ₦50,000 has left many people in shock.

A Nigerian man in Ireland has bagged an 11-year sentence after raping a 73-year-old woman.
The man who is a healthcare assistant admitted raping the woman with Alzheimer's in an Irish nursing home.
The victim was attacked in her room in the early hours of 3 April, during the height of the Covid-19 lockdown.
She was found in a distressed state later that morning by a staff member.
