Man City have reportedly slapped a £30million price tag on defender Eric Garcia, who wants to leave the club.
The 19-year-old only made his Premier League debut last September but has already impressed in a City shirt.
He established himself as a first-team regular towards the end of the campaign alongside Aymeric Laporte.
Manager Pep Guardiola revealed that Garcia had turned down the offer of a new contract.
The Spaniard has been heavily linked with a return to boyhood club Barcelona , whom he left to join City in 2017.
Guardiola said: “He announced (to) us that he doesn’t want to extend his contract with Manchester City . He has one more year and, after that, he doesn’t want to extend.
“We wanted it but he doesn’t, so I imagine he wants to play in another place.”
The BBC report that City want £30million for the defender and are prepared to keep him despite him entering the final year of his contract.
Andros Townsend says Man City signing Nathan Ake for £41m is a great deal
The Manchester club view the price tag as realistic despite his lack of first-team experience.
City have already made moves this summer to strengthen their defence with Nathan Ake joining from Bournemouth for £41million.
