BACKGROUND
Tiwatope Savage popularly known as Tiwa Savage a Nigerian singer, songwriter and actress who was born on 5th February 1980 in Isale Eko, Lagos state and at the age of 11, she relocated to London.
EDUCATION
Tiwa Savage had her secondary education in London.
She studied Accounting in the University of Kent.
She graduated from Berklee College of Music with a degree in professional music in 2007.
CAREER
She started her musical journey quite early as she was a trombone player for her school's orchestra band while in secondary school.
Savage sings both in English and Yoruba and her music is a blend of Afrobeats, R&B, pop and hip-hop.
At the age of 16, She did backup vocals for English singer George Michael and lent vocals to other musicians including Mary J. Blige, Blu Cantrell, Emma Bunton, Chaka Khan, Kelly Clarkson, Ms. Dynamite and Andrea Bocelli.
After her university education, she started working at The Royal Bank of Scotland.
In 2006, Savage took part in the X Factor, United Kingdom edition and made it to the top 24 but was the 12th person to be evicted.
In 2009, Savage signed a publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing which allowed her to write for Mýa, Babyface, Fantasia, Monica and Kat Deluna.
In 2010, Her collaboration with Fantasia on the song "Collard Greens & Cornbread" was nominated as the American recording artist by Grammy . She also performed background vocals on Whitney Houston 's album I Look to You.
