Manchester United Thrashed At Home By Crystal Palace
Sep 19, 2020
Manchester United has suffered a 3-1 loss at Old Trafford when they faced Crystal Palace in their first match of the season.
The visitors took the lead in 7th minute through Townsend thanks to a  Jeffrey Schlupp cross that he sent De Gea the opposite direction.
Captain Wilfried Zaha doubled the lead in the 74th minute when Victor Lindelof handed the ball forcing the referee to check the VAR for confirmation before giving a penalty.
Six minutes later Van de Beek gave hope for the Red Devils as time run out for them to equalize and possibly come from behind and win their fixture.
Zaha made it three in the 85th minute when his strike was fast enough for De Gea to defend as it passed right before him.
The defeat was the worst start for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who had most of his first team players out of form to kick off with a bang.
They will however have to go back to the drawing board and check some of their strategies and clear note that the league is back and very competitive given the transfers.
