"It’s been a strange year in the world of travel but we’re seeing more destinations adapting safely to the ‘new normal’ and welcoming visitors with amazing deals."
Covid restrictions are forcing many European destinations to slash the cost of car hire with popular resorts offering tourists vehicles from under £10 per week.
But it is Spanish destinations that are the cheapest according to data revealed by car hire comparison website EnjoyTravel.com .

Madrid (from £0.87 per day)
Valencia (from £1.42 per day)
Barcelona (from £1.59 per day)
Ibiza (from £1.88 per day)
Seville (from £3.21 per day)
Menorca (from £6.75 per day)
La Gomera (from £18.03 per day)
Steve Dennis, Managing Director of EnjoyTravel.com , said: “It’s been a strange year in the world of travel but we’re seeing more destinations adapting safely to the ‘new normal’ and welcoming visitors with amazing deals.
“The average hire price per day with some brands is just 75p per day right now, so it’s the perfect time to snap up a bargain for travellers happy to soak up some Spanish sunshine.
“We scan prices all day, every day so that travellers don’t have to, and we’ve got relationships with reputable car hire brands both big and small which allows us to guarantee the very best prices.
“Whilst the figures are live, accurate prices, there’s some top tricks to avoid getting stung by hidden fees – always buy your own Excess Protection, say no to additional insurance at the desk, and make sure you’ve got a valid credit card to hold the hire excess. Be careful of hidden charges such as ‘full to empty’ fuel policies – which EnjoyTravel.com doesn’t offer.
“Don’t forget to take photos and videos of the car condition on collection in case of any quibbles on return. Do this, and you’re ready to go.”
