In a case of (very-recent) history repeating itself, Tesco has become the second supermarket to bring back rationing for certain items to deter panic buying .
Tesco follow Morrisons who re-introduced rationing on certain items after fears of a second wave were reported across the country.
Which products have the supermarkets put a restriction on?

A Tesco spokesperson said: ‘We have good availability, with plenty of stock to go round, and we would encourage our customers to shop as normal.
‘To ensure that everyone can keep buying what they need, we have introduced bulk-buy limits on a small number of products.
‘To help our customers shop safely, we will also have colleagues at the entrances of our larger stores to remind customers about the safety measures we have in place, including the legal requirement to wear a face covering.’

Is Morrisons rationing certain products?
A Morrisons spokesperson told Metro.co.u k: ‘We are introducing a limit on a small number of key products, such as toilet roll and disinfectant. Our stock levels of these products are good but we want to ensure that they are available for everyone.’
Some Aldi and Iceland stores have imposed a limit but this is not something being rolled out across all branches and has been described as a ‘local initiative’.
Therefore, your local store might impose some restrictions without any official word given beforehand.
