Expert gives date Irish tourists can holiday again as destinations emerge

Holidaymakers could be back in the skies in just weeks
A travel expert has said unrestricted foreign flights must return - and that we could be holidaying in the Canaries by next month.
From Monday, only four countries will be on our Green List: Cyprus, Finland, Latvia and Liechtenstein.
However Ireland is expected to sign up to the European Commission's traffic light system for foreign travel in October.
And Travel Extra journalist Eoghan Corry has insisted that the Government must commit fully to the guidance at the scheduled meeting - and if they do, we could be back in the skies in just weeks.
He told the Irish Mirror: "On October 13 I would hope that they will align completely with the Europeans, they won't cherry pick. They're currently trying to justify the Green List by cherry picking one bit of European policy. I hope that they will use all the data and all the metrics, that they will regionalise, and that from October we can participate in international travel like we used to.
"And I would expect that, if they do this, from October 13 people will be able to plan travel, plan a holiday in the Canaries where the rate is less than 20, ours is 70, plan to go on business.
"All of that can happen on October 13, it's up to Government to do what they said they would do and align themselves with European policy. No buts, no ifs, no picking a little bit, do it properly or not do it all."
