Missouri Woman Who Lost 11 Family Members To COVID-19 Gives Away Hundreds Of Dollars In Food
Sep 29, 2020
A woman from Maplewood, Missouri knows the pain that COVID-19 can cause firsthand. The number of heartbreaking losses she has suffered these last few months is staggering.
Shana Jones has lost 11 loved ones, both friends and family members, to the deadly virus in the week before and after her birthday.
Despite the unimaginable heartache, Shana is choosing to focus her energy on helping others in need.
“A lot of people cannot go back to work full time. They’re part-time and they’re still trying to make it, but they are struggling because, you know, they’re home. They can’t work,” Shana told KRQE.
And so, this amazingly kindhearted woman started setting up tables on her front yard.
She started spending hundreds of dollars of her own money on extra essential items, like toiletries and canned goods, cleaning supplies and pet treats.
Nearly every single day, Shana fills her “Grab-N-Go” tables with free items for anyone who needs them. All people have to do is drive by her house, pick up whatever they need, and continue along their way.
Since the the pandemic started, Shana has donated food and supplies to more than 300 families a week! Just amazing.
“When she started putting the table up in her front yard her biggest joy was to see it empty at the end of the day because that meant lots of families had been blessed,” her loved one wrote on GoFundMe. “Shana wakes up each day with gratitude in her heart and a smile on her face. ”
