Finally, Filson Is Making Its Own Jeans
Oct 1, 2020
Cut and sewn in the U.S.
For well over a century, Filson has been doling out enduring garments for those who demand them. You probably know the brand for its bomb-proof waxed-canvas outerwear and its heavy twill bags. But now you'll know Filson for its denim jeans , too.
Though the brand has dipped its toes into denim sporadically, this is the first official denim launch from the legendary garment producer. Dubbed the Rail-Splitter , the jeans use an American woven indigo-dyed denim — in both raw and rinsed finishes — that weighs in at a sturdy 14.5 ounces as well as an Italian black denim that weighs 13 ounces. Each jean features 5-pocket construction, including double-lined rear pockets for durability. Forget about your wallet blowing through your pocket. They're also built with riveted reinforcements throughout, a metal shank button and zipper fly, thick leather patch and tucked belt loops for a cleaner look that's also longer-lasting. Additionally, the Rail-Splitter will also be available in a raw, 13.5-ounce Japanese selvedge denim for those craving something with more denimhead credentials.
Along with the Rail-Splitter, Filson will also be releasing a double-knee denim jean its calling the Bullbuck Double-Front. The Bullbuck will come in a 14.5-ounce rigid denim with 5-pocket details as well as an ultra-durable double-knee construction.
