Nothing Comes Easy In Blogging: How To Support Your Friends
Nov 24, 2020
When I was young, before I actually delved into blogging, I had the impression that for every time a user clicks through a web page, the site admin gets a commission off the amount of data used in loading the particular page.
Like what I was told, that Ex President Olusegun Obasanjo gets a share of N1 on every Coke bottle produced all over the world. That's the same thing I thought happens in blogging until it dawned on me later that blogging is just as difficult as any other labour works out there.
With that impression, I started a WordPress blog in 2014. Later, in 2016, I switched to blogger, all expecting a miraculous turnaround. You know, if Linda Ikeji could make millions from blogging, then what excuse would I give?
But now, I've come to the realization that there's actually no difference between a bricklayer and a blogger. The only thin line is while one works with physical energy, the other works with intellect. But for both, the harder/smarter you work, the higher you earn. Nothing comes easy.
Now why am I writing this? I'm of the opinion that a lot of people out there still believe they are paying their blogger friends by clicking their links. It's all lies. You are only paying them (indirectly) if you click on ads on their blog (if interested in the context), buy stuff with their affilate links etc.
