Nnamdi Kanu's Wife Breaks Silence After Visiting IPOB Leader In DSS Custody; SEE What She Said
May 6, 2024
Mrs. Uchechi Kanu, the wife of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has voiced her appreciation for the concerted efforts of Igbo politicians, governors, and political office holders in seeking the release of her husband, despite his continued detention by the Department of State Services (DSS).
In a recent address during a live broadcast on Radio Biafra, Mrs. Kanu extended her gratitude to the senator representing Anambra South senatorial zone, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, for his instrumental role in facilitating her visit to her husband, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who has been held in DSS custody since 2021 on charges stemming from his alleged breach of bail conditions dating back to 2017.
Expressing her heartfelt appreciation, Mrs. Kanu acknowledged the supportive actions of various Igbo political figures, emphasizing their shared concern over the perceived injustice of her husband' s detention. She noted the quiet but determined efforts of these elites, who are actively working behind the scenes to pave the way for constructive dialogue aimed at securing Kanu' s release.
Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, in confirming his involvement in facilitating Mrs. Kanu' s visit to her husband, underscored the importance of addressing the challenges she faced in accessing him while in detention. Acting swiftly upon her request, Senator Ubah intervened to ensure that Mrs. Kanu could reunite with her husband within the confines of the DSS facility.
