YANGO, an international tech company, continues to upgrade security on its platform by introducing enhanced safety features to safeguard partner drivers and users. The company whose operations launched in March 2022, has also expanded its operational landscape to Solwezi this month, having previously only operated in Lusaka, Kitwe and Ndola.

Commenting on this development, Yango Country Manager Kabanda Chewe said ‘’Since the start of this year, we have continuously upgraded our app and announced new safety measures for both riders and partner drivers on our platform. We appreciate the hard work of the partner drivers as well as the vital role played by users. The safety of all partner drivers and users on the platform is of prime importance to Yango and we will continue to invest in this area’’.

She further stated that the company recognizes the paramount importance of safety in the transportation industry, hence Yango continues to take proactive steps to fortify its platform and enhance security protocols, reaffirming its commitment to providing a secure and reliable ride-hailing experience for all users.

One significant update is the new rider selfie feature that now enables the rider to upload a photo (from the library or to take a selfie) to the personal taxi account. This allows the driver to have the same privilege of viewing the profile of who they pickup. The passenger will also see the driver’s selfie for the same reasons. Before the trip, the drivers also have access to the passenger’s number of trips and ratings based on the feedback from the previous trips.
