May 22, 2024
Employees of a lucrative Namununga wholesale store have returned K100,000 and valuables they had stolen in the wake of Thursday morning.
According to a male employee at the wholesaler, he was the first one to arrive at work on Thursday around 7.30am only to discover that the shop had been broken into.
“I was shocked to find that everything was scattered. I informed my boss immediately.” He said.
The shop sells household items, food stuffs and it has a liquor store situated at the back on the right side.
The shop owner said that he was devastated by the loss saying that it was not the first time his wholesale shop had been broken into.
“Yesterday was a busy day and all the sales cash that was supposed to be banked today is gone.” He said.
He said since he had previously reported theft cases to the authorities who never took action he resorted to seeking services of a native traditional diviner from Chiengi Town,Luapula Province,Dr Mawanda Shafiq who would ‘arrest’ the thieves.
“When I first visited Dr Mawanda Shafiq at his humble abode,he told me that the theft thing was an ‘inside job.’ He told me that my employees are the ones who had orchestrated the theft.” The owner said.
The owner said that he requested the native traditional herbalist to unleash a ruthless attack on the thieves.
Later, it is reported that his employees who had stolen cash money and valuables presented themselves to him and pleaded for forgiveness before another intervention for their ‘release.’
