Maame Yaa Konamah Antwi, a well- known newscaster and anchor with UTV, part of the Despite Group of Companies, is mourning the 10th anniversary of her husband' s tragic death. Her husband, Pastor Gabriel Antwi, passed away under heartbreaking circumstances on May 20, 2014, a day that forever changed her life.

Pastor Gabriel Antwi, who was just 31 years old at the time of his death, was an ordained minister at the Penny Assembly of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) branch in Teshie. He also worked with the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology. Known for his dedication to both his family and his faith, Pastor Antwi' s untimely demise left a deep void in the lives of those who knew him.

On that fateful day in 2014, Pastor Antwi decided to fix the television antenna on the roof of his house. He wanted to ensure clearer channels to watch his wife, Yaa Konamah, present the early morning news on UTV' s morning show, " Adekye Nsroma. " With the desire to support and see his wife on television, he climbed onto the roof, asking a relative to stay inside and check if the channels improved.

Tragically, during this process, the relative inside the house noticed that Pastor Antwi had gone silent. Concerned, she went outside to check and found him lying on the ground. Panicked, she called for help, and neighbors quickly rushed to assist. They transported Pastor Antwi to the 37 Military Hospital, but upon arrival, he was pronounced dead. It is believed that he was electrocuted while attempting to adjust the antenna.
