Awutu Bawjiase: A land of potential and progress
Jun 11, 2024
Nestled in the heart of the Awutu Senya West district in the Central Region of the Republic of Ghana lies the vibrant town of Awutu Bawjiase. Situated approximately 55 kilometres from the bustling capital city of Accra, Awutu Bawjiase holds a rich history, cultural significance, and immense potential for development and growth.
One of the defining moments in the recent history of Awutu Bawjiase was the resolution of a 25-year-long chieftaincy battle that had plagued the town.
The dispute centred around the rightful chief of Awutu Bawjiase, with two claimants vying for the prestigious title. Nai Kwaku Osardu II, who had been serving as the chief for several years, unfortunately, passed away, leaving the seat vacant and the town in a state of uncertainty.
His successor, Nai Kwaku Osardu III, emerged as the rightful heir and was declared the legitimate chief of Awutu Bawjiase by the National House of Chieftaincy in the Ashanti region of Ghana. With the chieftaincy dispute finally settled, Awutu Bawjiase is poised for a new era of progress and development under the leadership of Nai Kwaku Osardu III.
The chief is now extending an invitation to potential investors eager to contribute to the town's growth. He envisions a future where factories, hotels, schools, and other essential infrastructure thrive in Awutu Bawjiase, creating opportunities for employment, education, and economic prosperity.
