Watch video: All you know is drive V8s - Bawumia Campaign booed at Adum
Jun 12, 2024
The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has emphasised that Ghanaians need an experienced individual like himself to lead the country into the digital age towards which the world is heading.
He highlighted his capability to propel Ghana into this digital era.
Explaining why he needed to lead this endeavour, the Vice President appealed to Ghanaians to grant him the mandate to steer the nation's affairs.
In videos circulating on social media, some constituents at the event were seen expressing their disapproval of Dr Bawumia.
The young men, as captured in a video shared on X, are seen booing at a Bawumia campaign-branded pickup truck that had about half a dozen people in the back.
Further analysis of the video showed that the pickup was part of a convoy of V8s, a police van, and a bus, which had slowed due to crowds in the area.
The young people are seen and heard jeering at the occupants of the vehicles in the convoy.
"This is all you people know, driving in V8s, shame on you all, thieves, shame on you," some of them are heard saying. "You have done nothing, move your convoy away, this is all you know. We are wiser, this year we will vote for change, we will change this year," they added as the convoy slowly passed.
Addressing hundreds of clergymen at the McKeon Temple in Kumasi, Bawumia reiterated that the modern world is moving towards a digital revolution.
