Jun 14, 2024
CAMFED Ghana has expressed its commitment to supporting more young women in accessing education through its decade-long scholarship programme.
.
This initiative, a ten-year partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, offers comprehensive support to academically gifted young women in rural communities within CAMFED’s operational regions, enabling them to pursue secondary and tertiary education.
.
Since its inception in 2013, the programme has assisted over 6,000 young women, with 4,032 receiving support for secondary education and 2,140 for tertiary education.
.
To celebrate this decade of impact, CAMFED Ghana convened partners from various regions, including representatives from the schools they collaborate with, the Ministry of Education, and other stakeholders.
She stated, “This is not the end for CAMFED Ghana and our relationship with the Mastercard Foundation
This ongoing relationship underscores our mandate to ensure young women become economically independent and can give back to their families and communities.”
Having to sell on the street when I was young, I knew that was not what I wanted and so when I heard about CAMFED, I knew this was my turning point.
