Nigerian football star Victor Osimhen has publicly criticized former Super Eagles head coach Finidi George in an intense 10- minute Instagram Live session. The Napoli striker' s outburst stemmed from comments allegedly made by Finidi suggesting he wouldn' t beg Osimhen to play for the national team.

Osimhen' s fiery remarks follow his absence from Nigeria' s recent 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against South Africa and Benin Republic, a period during which Finidi George was at the helm of the Super Eagles. The 25- year- old striker, known for his dedication to representing Nigeria, responded vigorously to what he described as disrespectful and false claims.

In his live session, Osimhen vehemently denied any lack of willingness to play for Nigeria. He accused Finidi of fabricating stories and emphasized that he had tried to join the team to support his teammates, despite his non- participation in the matches.

" I will post the pictures and screenshots I had when I spoke to Finidi George after he was appointed because you all believe that someone keeping quiet because he is a footballer, ogun kill anybody, any of you that believe I didn' t want to play for Nigeria, " Osimhen said passionately.

" You can talk nonsense. I have lost respect I have for that man (Finidi), I have lost it all. I swear to God I have lost it now because why? I called him, told him to allow me come to the camp to be with the boys, I have all these recorded, to come talk to the boys, " he added.
