Heartbreaking: Court Orders The Sale Of Michael Essien's Houses

An Accra High Court has ordered the sale of Michael Essien Houses. Two houses of the former Black Stars midfielder are set for auction.
The news of the auction was reported by the nation' s premier newspaper, the Daily Graphic
According to the report, the two huge mansions located at the splash Trassacco Valley Estate in East Legon have been put on sale.
The Deputy Sheriff of the High Court (Commercial Division) issued the order for the sale on June 12, 2024.
The properties in question are located at Stephen Quarshie Crescent, East Legon (House Number 9), and Trassaco (Phase 2), Adjiringano (House Number 204/205), both situated in Accra.
According to a private auctioneer, the properties are valued at $20 million and $30 million.
Essien started his career playing for Liberty Professionals in Ghana. In 2000, he moved to France to join Bastia.
He moved to Ligue 1 title holders Lyon in 2003. At Lyon, Essien won back- to- back league titles in 2003– 04 and 2004– 05, and won Ligue 1 Player of the Year in 2005. In 2005, Essien signed with Premier League side Chelsea for a £24. 4 million transfer fee and, at the time of his signing, was the most expensive African footballer in history.
The former Ghana international later played for other renowned clubs such as Real Madrid and AC Milan, earning global admiration for his midfield prowess.
