The former senate president of Nigeria, Bukola Saraki, has lost his mother, Chief Florence Morenike Saraki, at the age of 89.

The mother of the former governor of Kwara state reportedly died on Tuesday evening, June 18. Saraki, in a tweet on Tuesday, announced the passing of his mother.

He expressed his profound sadness and submission to the will of Almighty God, sharing that his beloved mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and family matriarch, Chief Mrs. Florence Morenike Saraki, had peacefully transitioned.

He also mentioned that details regarding funeral arrangements would be shared in due course and appreciated the love, prayers, and support as the family mourns her passing.

His tweet reads:
